This year was our first year running the Hotel & Catering Show, and we’re delighted to say it went well. We kept the format very similar to that of previous years and hosted a wide range of exhibitors covering the whole of the hospitality & catering market.
“We were delighted with this year’s show. Our stand saw a great range of visitors, many of whom have since become customers. Well worth all the effort!”. Julie Harris, Comax UK Ltd.
Well over a thousand people visited the show, to see more than 130 exhibitors, 42 of whom were doing the show for the first time. The post show visitor survey revealed that 38.1% of visitors found not just 1, but 3 or more new suppliers, whilst 40.91% placed orders at or shortly after the show. Best of all, 74.63% of visitors would recommend the show to a colleague or relevant business.
“High quality leads from start to finish on both days, non stop absolutely brilliant show”. Mark Murrin, Chunk of Devon.
Visitors came from the local area and beyond; Devon, Dorset, Hampshire, Isle of Wight, Somerset, Wiltshire, Cornwall, Essex, Kent, Leicestershire, West Yorkshire. There were also those who had travelled considerably further – from Ireland, Germany and Austria. We even had one visitor from the Ivory Coast!
“Good to find such a comprehensive show close by. Impressed by the quality of the exhibitors and found some good leads, some of which have translated into orders to take our business to a new level”. Peter Boraston, Barnaby’s.
Show features this year included Hospitality Talks, a Demonstration Kitchen, and the Mixology Bar. Run by Nectar Imports, the Bar hosted the UKBG Market Challenge 2016 for Barman Apprentices and Bartending Legends, which were won by Elliot Rusbridge from Bournemouth College and Dave Hall from Urban Beach respectively. Chefs showing off their talents in the demo kitchen included Matt Davey from Flaming Peaches, Matt Budden from the Hilton, Bournemouth, & Pritesh Moody from Taste of Game. With both students and professionals taking part in the competitions and displaying their talents in the kitchen, the show was a great way for new talent to learn from more established names, and provided inspiration for everyone.
“For me it was a really good first show experience, only wish I had more time, you have set the bar for any other shows I attend. I found what I required, so thank you very much“. Tracy Brook, Brook Tricycle Ice-Cream & Treats.
Next year’s show will take place on Tuesday 14th & Wednesday 15th March 2017. You can keep up to date with all the news about the show here on the website, or why not follow the show on Twitter at @hotelcatershow.
PS: Congratulations to Link Print & Packaging who won £250.00 Waitrose/John Lewis vouchers in the draw for exhibitors who re-booked onsite!
